- Strength for Seniors Mondays, January 9, 16, 23, 30 from 3:00 – 3:45 PM, at the Shenango Valley YMCA located at 925 N. Hermitage Road in Hermitage. This 45 minute class will be based around strength and resistance training to help strengthen muscles and bones, provide relief from arthritis pain, improve ROM, control weight and glucose levels, and can even help with mood and sleep cycles. The class will use resistive equipment either a resistance band or light set of dumbbells (2-3 lbs). There will be a limited number available so if you have a set of your own please bring to class. The class will incorporate stretching both as a warm up and cool down with resistive training and light cardiovascular training in between. Loose fitting clothes and comfortable supportive shoes are recommended. Please call to register for the new class.

- Balance for Seniors
Thursdays, January 12, 19, 26 from 1:30 – 2:15 PM, at the Shenango Valley YMCA located at 925 N. Hermitage Road in Hermitage. Every 20 minutes an older adult dies as a result of a fall and every 14 seconds a senior in the U.S. is taken to the ER after a fall. This 45-minute class will focus on improving balance, as well as tips to help to reduce your risk of a fall. Loose fitting clothes and comfortable supportive shoes are recommended. Registration is required.
- Lunch n’ Learn Physician Health Seminar
Topic: Treating Joint Pain, Presented by: James Boniface, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon
Thursday, January 19 from 12 – 1 PM, at the Diagnostic & Imaging Center 2435 Garden Way Hermitage. Join Dr. Boniface will discuss joint pain and non-operative and operative treatment options. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
