Sharon Regional Medical Center Welcomes New Board of Trustees Members

Sharon Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of two members to its board of trustees. Tony Burt, CFA, CFP®, CIMA®, AIFA®, of PNC Wealth Management and Tonia L. Skakalski, D.O, will begin their duties with the board of directors effective July 1, 2018. 
Mr. Burt works with his clients and PNC’s Wealth team to deliver comprehensive investment advice and solutions to align a client’s portfolio with his or her overall financial goals and objectives. He is supported by an investment strategy group and analytical resources to address each client’s unique situation. His duties include the development, implementation, and monitoring of advanced investment strategies utilizing stocks, bonds, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, ETFs, and various alternative investments. 
Mr. Burt graduated magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. He has earned the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation, the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation, the CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation in conjunction with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the AIFA® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst) designation, and is a graduate of the Financial Planning Association’s Residency Program. 
Prior to joining PNC Wealth Management, Mr. Burt worked as a Lead Advisor and Investment Committee Member for JFS Wealth Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor based in Hermitage, PA. As a Lead Advisor, he worked with individuals, retirement plans, foundations, and endowments to develop, implement, and monitor customized investment solutions. As an Investment Committee Member, Mr. Burt was responsible for researching investments and communicating the Committee’s investment direction and developments to the firm’s Advisors. 
Mr. Burt is a graduate of Leadership Shenango and previously served on its Professional Development Committee. He is a member of PNC’s Investment Advisor National Practice Group, the CFA Society of Pittsburgh, the Financial Planning Association and the Investment Management Consultants Association. Away from business, Mr. Burt enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. 
Tonia L. Skakalski, D.O., originally from New Castle, Pennsylvania is an obstetrician and gynecologist on staff at Sharon Regional Medical Center and part of Steward Medical Group. A graduate of Laurel High School in New Castle and Grove City College, Dr. Skakalski attended the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri and completed her ACGME Transitional year/ AOA Rotating Internship  at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Skakalski was an OB/GYN Resident at Synergy Medical Education Alliance Saginaw, Michigan as well as a Clinical Faculty member at Michigan State University.  
Throughout her career, Dr. Skakalski has traveled extensively providing medical treatment in Pakistan and Romania. While completing her residency in Pittsburgh she was a board member of A Hand to Hold — a non-profit organization formed in response to the frequency of infant homicides.  A Hand to Hold was a hospital-based program that offered a confidential alternative to mothers who wished to abandon their babies unharmed.  The organization was endorsed by then-Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy and then-Allegheny County’s District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. and was supported by the City of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Skakalski has published a number of articles and presented several lectures on topics ranging from management of fibroids during pregnancy, post-operative analgesia, pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome
(hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count) and other hypertensive diseases of pregnancy to CNS complications of pre-eclampsia.

Their objectivity, commitment of time and dedication to the community all play an important role in the success of our organization.”
