Steward Health Care’s Sharon Regional Medical Center Opens Outpatient Laboratory in Lawrence County

Sharon Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, today announced the opening of a temporary site for walk-in routine lab services for pediatric and adult patients in Lawrence County.  The outpatient lab is located at 2915 Wilmington Road in New Castle, with hours of operation scheduled for Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 3:30 PM.  There are plans to extend to offer Saturday hours in the coming months.

In April, Sharon Regional announced plans to construct a new state-of-the-art health center, the Sharon Regional Outpatient Health and Diagnostic Center, in the former Aldi’s store, located at 2715 Wilmington Road in Neshannock Township.  The 14,000 square foot facility will include suites for diagnostic testing, a walk-in laboratory, x-ray and EKG services. In addition, the health center will house specialty physician offices, including cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, and urology.  The center is expected to open in early 2019.

Joseph Hugar, President of Sharon Regional Medical Center noted, “By bringing patient services such as outpatient centers to Lawrence County, in addition to bringing primary care physicians and specialists into the Steward network, we are expanding consumer choices, offering convenience for patients, and efficiency for our physicians.”  Hugar continued, “Our goal is to keep patients in the communities we serve and eliminate the need for them and/or family members to travel to Pittsburgh or Cleveland for care.”
