Trumbull Regional and Sharon Regional Medical Center to host Heart Health Panel Discussion and Screening Event

On Tuesday, November 15 at 5pm, Trumbull Regional and Sharon Regional Medical Center will host a free cardiac panel discussion and heart health screening event at Avalon at Squaw Creek. The cardiac panel will be made up of experts from the hospital’s heart teams including Interventional Cardiologists Shyam Bhakta, MD, Chinedu Angela Iwge, MD, Fadi Naddour, MD, as well as Randy Metcalf, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, and George Joseph, MD, Electrophysiologist.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States and Steward Health Care is focused on providing the community with the necessary tools, resources, and preventive screenings to live a heart health life.

“Both Trumbull Regional and Sharon Regional Medical Center offer the full continuum of advanced cardiac care and it’s important for the community to understand the depth of cardiac services we offer” said Dr. Shyam Bhakta. “In addition, it’s critical for people to know the signs and symptoms of a cardiac emergency and to call 911 immediately if they or someone they are with are experiencing them,” said Bhakta.

Trumbull Regional and Sharon Regional Medical Centers, along with Steward Health Care, are focused on the importance of community-based care and supporting the preventative care that can increase positive health outcomes and boost public health.
